until Spring Break! I'm not sure about you, but I am definitely ready for a break from everything. Unfortunately, I'll be spending my break getting ready to interview for other Media jobs. :( Oh well--it could always be worse. At least I'll have a job, which is better than many of the people out there.
Thankfully I've been praying and God has given me a peace about starting over again. I've never really been one to shy away from change, but as I get older, I'm finding myself wanting to settle down and get rooted. I'm tired of moving around all of the time. I also hate the whole interview process. I'm an awesome Media Specialist (if I do say so myself). Just hire me and you'll see. (At least that's what I'd like to tell the principals/assistant principals.) I especially hate the question--so, tell me about yourself.... I know it's supposed to be an opener to help me "loosen up," but that question always has the opposite effect. If you want to know something about me, just ask. I hate talking about myself and my "accomplishments." I'm a hard worker and I'm great about helping students and faculty solve their "problems." What else do you want to know?
Hmmm....maybe I should post my resume here. I wonder if that would help? Okay, so maybe I won't go that far. Please pray for me in the weeks ahead as I begin my job search. There are only about 8 positions and about 20 people fighting for them. Yippee. Please pray that I find a job quickly--or that one finds me quickly. :) Thanks in advance for your prayers. I've forged some really great friendships at this school and it's going to be really hard to leave them.
NOOOO!
ReplyDeleteOTOH, if it brings you back to Texas for a job, it will make Kirsten & me happy. (Hey, she's selling Creative Memories now, and her first party is this Thursday evening!)
Last week at TLA, I met the library director from Leander, north of Austin, a really cool, growing district with lovely facilities. They are booming and building new campuses, and she has had to hire nearly a quarter of her librarians on emergency certificate...so you could live right beside funky, funky, AWESOME Austin and have a terrific job if Florida's economy is hurting...
Let us know. Kirsten and I will drive down there and scout apartments for you and Madison!
P.S. My word verification entry is QUARK.
