What Can Brown Do For Me?

They can actually deliver my package where they are supposed to deliver it!

Here's the story...I ordered my digital pictures from Shutterfly ( and they were scheduled to be delivered on Monday. When I arrived home from work, rather than the package sitting by my door, I received a note from UPS saying that they needed a signature. Kind of bummed, I wrote a note on the ticket requesting that my package be delivered to the apartment leasing office.
Tuesday when I arrived home, rather than a note stating that my package had been delivered to the office, I received a note from the UPS driver--"Office will not accept package. Call to schedule pick up." So of course I called my office to find out when they changed their policy. Lo and behold--they still accept packages unless it's furniture. Imagine that... So, I left another note stating that my apartment complex DOES accept packages (with the address of the office, mind you) and to please leave it with them. I also went one step further and called UPS to let them know what happened and was told to leave them a note and to sign the back of it so that they would have my signature. Content with this "fix" I followed the directions.
Guess what happened when I arrived home today? No, really..guess....That's right--you guessed it...another note was left that this was their final delivery and that I will have to come pick it up at their location. I called them back to let them know exactly what I thought--and that I wanted a note put in the file of the driver that this is not what was requested. To the girl's credit, she asked if I wanted to reschedule a delivery for this evening, so of course I said YES! When I was called by the local UPS person, she said that they were unable to deliver it this evening and that I would have to come pick it up. (Does the color red mean anything to you?) I told the girl that I wanted to know why the package wasn't delivered to the apartment office like I requested...Are you ready for this? "They don't accept packages. That they're open Monday through Friday 8:30 AM-8:30 PM and that I'll have to come pick it up because the driver cannot possibly come back today to deliver it." (No, I'm not kidding--that's the response I received.)
So, my dear readers, tomorrow I will be picking up my package and reminding UPS that I work for one of the largest school districts in the nation and that at the touch of a button EVERYONE will know about this incident. Not to mention the fact that you all know about this issue. I'll leave your shipping decisions up to you, but as for me and my house, we will use FedEx (!
