Why I Read this Book:  One's true path.  Isn't that what we are all searching for in life?  Father Dominguez is no different.  After all, he works hard in the monastery with his daily chores and prayer time, helping out with confessions, and working the soup kitchen for the homeless.  After he meets vivaciousToni in the bookstore, and starts spending his days off with her, he suddenly begins to question everything he's known since becoming a monk.

When Mr. Marquez approached me about reviewing his book, I was excited to read something a bit different. After all, I've read a few ebooks on my phone through the public library, but I'd never actually read one for a review, so I jumped at the chance--especially since it's dubbed a romantic comedy.  (Yes, I'm a sucker for those.  Just don't tell anyone, okay?)

What I Liked: I loved the fact that Father Dominguez spent his "days off" in a bookstore reading.  As a librarian, that warms my heart and instantly draws me to him as a character.  I also liked the fact that he tried to help out a homeless boy named Christopher, whenever possible.

What I Didn't Like: I would have liked to have a little more of Father Dominguez's background.  Homelessness was hinted at a little bit, but nothing concrete was really mentioned.  I think it would have added depth to his character to know more of his flaws, and it would help the reader understand some of his decisions later in the book.

Overall Impression: While I would not call it a romantic comedy, per se, it does have all of the elements of a romance with a smidgen of humor here and there.  If you're ready for a lighthearted and endearing read, you'll really enjoy The Path Home by Caedem Marquez. (It's on sale now in the Amazon Kindle 99-cent store!)
