Fall Into Reading 2011 Wrap-Up

With the weather in the 80's it's really hard to believe that Winter started a few days ago and Christmas is tomorrow.  However, the beginning of the "winter" season, means that the Fall Into Reading 2011 challenge is now complete.

I started with a pretty hefty list  although I added a few others and skipped some I thought I'd originally read.  With working several jobs, it's been hard to find a lot of reading time in my schedule.  However, I was able to read a lot more than I anticipated.

Double Trouble (PJ Sugar series #2) by Susan May Warren (finished)

Licensed for Trouble (PJ Sugar series #3) by Susan May Warren (finished)

Mercy Come Morning by Lisa Tawn Bergren (still reading)

Beyond the Grave (Past Midnight series #3) by Mara Purnhagen (finished)

Too Close to Home (ebook) by Lynette Eason (finished)

Borderline by Allan Stratton (didn't start)

Bruiser by Neal Shusterman (didn't start)

Dirty Little Secrets by C. J. Omolou (didn't start)

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins (finished)

In addition to my original list, I also read:

Angel by James Patterson
Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton (audiobook)
Too Close to Home by Lynette Eason (ebook)
Refuge on Crescent Hill by Melanie Dobson
Soul Surfer by Bethany Hamilton (audiobook)
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (audiobook)
Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins (audiobook)
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
Lethal Remedy by Richard L. Mabry
The Christmas Scrapbook by Philip Gulley

It's really hard to choose my favorite because all of the books were good in their own way,  It's been a long time since I've read medical thrillers and mysteries so I'm excited I was able to read a couple of those.  I also enjoyed reading a bit of young adult literature since I work with them every day and I'm always looking to recommend good books.

Did you participate in the Fall Into Reading 2011 challenge?  How did you do with your list?  Any recommendations?

Ah, Heather,
how did you like 'Anna and the French Kiss'? I have that one on my shelf to read! Think it might be better then the one I am reading right now...it's boring so far and if I were a kid it would be going back already! And what about 'The Christmas Scrapbook'? I am wondering if I read that one already...and which one was the medical book? Ah, I am having questions for you...LOL! I did participate in the Fall into Reading and didn't do to well as I had a computer crash, buy a new one and set it up...and spend a week in Miami with the babies...LOL! Working just takes too much priority around here...and now I need to get about 4.5 more hours of Staff Development in during this week...and my parents are comign...aaagh...I need more time in the day...or get away from the computer...LOL!

Hi Kirsten!
I LOVED Anna and the French Kiss. It was sweet and cute, and the girls are going to eat it up! It had been sitting on my shelf for awhile and I wanted something fun and light-hearted to read so I grabbed it.

The Christmas Scrapbook is another quick read. The husband is a pastor who wanted to do something specialfor his wife for Christmas so he decided to take a scrapbooking class. The only problem is that he tells her that he's at a men's group meeting. She starts to think he's lying and that's when the craziness starts. It was pretty funny.

The medical one was a bit creepy because Dr. Mabry works in the medical field. Of course, me being a hypochondriac didn't help matters. It's just scary when you think that this stuff really happens and could quite possibly be a true story.

I say don't let work intrude. Yes, it helps pay the bills but it shouldn't run our lives. Can't wait to see the pictures of the babies. :-)
