Heeeellloooooo Friday! Where have you been all week? I've missed you terribly, but I'm REALLY glad you're here now. As a tribute to how my week has gone, here's Francesca Battistelli's song This Is the Stuff from You Tube....
As a tribute to my friend Barb who is going home from the hospital today, here's a song just for her. Barb--you are a true survivor! The big "C" is no match for you! You will survive this and be a light to everyone else who will go through it. You're a Survivor and I love you!

Is it Friday yet????
Aside from a crazy schedule and having club day today, we end up with kids trying to hide cigarettes and weed in the library by throwing it at two of my TA's and telling them to "hide it!"
Really? I mean, really? (Obviously the students didn't get the message that 420 was YESTERDAY! You're a day late you idiots!) First, to even be imbibing in drugs is one of the stupidest things I can think of. To do it at school is even stupider. But when you get caught--to throw it at other students in the hopes that they'll save your sorry rear completely tops the cake.
Hope your day is much better than mine. Or at least, not as eventful. Friday is around the corner, right? Someone PLEASE tell me it's close!

Happy Friday!
Aside from the fact that I didn't think this day would EVER arrive, I'm having a great day! Next week is a full moon which means the kids are going to be crazier than usual. There's the stupid time change this weekend. (Hellooo...I think we should have all left work an hour early since we have to be there an hour early on Monday. Does anyone else agree?) Then, the state, in all of its infinite wisdom--schedules the FCAT test for the kiddos next week, and guess who gets to babysit, I mean proctor the test for 4 and a half hours?! AND that's just on Monday. The silly thing is, I'm supposed to walk around and make sure they're doing the work. I'm not allowed to read or do anything constructive. (Are they crazy? I REFUSE to stare at the wall for that time period. I'll be the one to go postal! I WILL have a book because I refuse to drive my children crazy by pacing back and forth.)
Thankfully, I was able to enjoy a night out with my aunt. We went to the Lightning (hockey) game against St. Louis tonight. It actually went into overtime!!! Unfortunately, the other team scored before we did--which means they won. YUCK! The sad thing is that the Lightning were not playing defensive very well. They used to actually "charge" the other team to try and get the puck away from them, but this year, the new team just waits for them to shoot the puck and then they go after it. Oh well, they'd still outlast me on the ice, so I guess I shouldn't really tell them how to play. But COME ON...I want the Stanley Cup back here!!!
My camera is keeling over again, otherwise I would have had some great shots of the game tonight. For some reason the lightning flash thingie just flashes off and on in the viewfinder and it will not take the picture. I used to think it needed new batteries, but I really think it's because it's not getting the full contact of the batteries. I've sent it in to be fixed for this exact problem before just a few months ago and it's doing it again. I guess I need to buy a new camera. Any suggestions? Anyone?
Well, I'm exhausted so I'm going to hit the showers. Go Lightning!!!

Sunday already?
It's been a semi-productive weekend. Friday night I FINALLY went out and bought more lights for the tree and finished putting them on. If I counted correctly, my tree is now the bearer of 1200 colored lights! My mom gave me an angel to put on top, so I managed to get her situated so that she wouldn't fall off--that was quite an adventure in itself. Nevertheless, I persevered. My only problem is, do I now hang my ornaments, or do I just leave it as a lighted tree? I kind of like the effect of lights only, but then I also keep thinking how this is my first year to put up a tree, so shouldn't I decorate it completely? (Of course then I have an even longer clean-up...) Let me know what you think. This picture isn't the greatest, but it does show the lights...
Saturday I had to take my car into the shop to get my tires rotated and balanced and to figure out why the check engine light is on. I don't even remember what all they did to the car, but it ended up costing me $400--again! No wonder I can't afford to make car payments! Just about the time I start getting some space cleared off my credit card, my car goes into the shop again and it's filled back up. I'm really frustrated right now--it's like the mechanics see me a mile away--and this is the cheap place! Maybe I should invest in a moped--at least then it wouldn't break down as much--hopefully!
After sitting at the mechanic's for half the day, I decided to brave the traffic and try to finish my Christmas shopping. I think I have just about everything now--with the exception of 3 people. It's going to be a slim Christmas this year. There are about 7 extra people that I had to buy for this year that I hadn't planned on, so instead of making all of my gift like I had planned, I'm now investing in gift cards. Thankfully our local grocery stores are now carrying gift cards for various places, which has made shopping MUCH easier! Now, I just have to figure out how to wrap everything--YUCK!
Today I am attending church services online. I actually enjoy this more because I can attend in my PJ's and no one but God and I (and now you) know about it. Well, services are about to start, I can here the music playing on the other screen. Have a wonderful day!
